FAQ’s

I have never played before, am I too old to learn?	You are never too old. Age is not a problem.
I have no equipment, what do I need?	We are able to provide you with boules to get you started. Please wear comfortable shoes. Sandals and flip-flops are not acceptable for safety reasons.
Will anyone teach me how to play?	Yes, we have players with a variety of experience and abilities within the club, and many willing to teach new players.
Can I come along and just have a go to see whether I like it?	Of course, we offer you the opportunity of finding out if petanque is for you with three free sessions, after that we can discuss the various options of club membership.
Do I have to play in competitions?	No you don’t , there is no pressure to join league teams. However, after some practice and experience you might enjoy more competitive matches. The decision is completely yours.
When can I play?	The site is open most days for members, however we have regular club days when members gather together to play.
Is there parking at the club?	We are located behind the rugby clubhouse, there is plenty of free parking available.
Are there any other benefits to joining the club?	Club membership also gives you social membership of the Harlequins Rugby Club and their facilities, along with Welsh Petanque Association membership.
